Dear FareHunter supporters,

I started FareHunter back in 2004 to help friends and family find the best deal for
their airline flights. As someone who loves both travelling and the Internet, perhaps it was only natural that I wanted to marry them together.

There are countless travel sites on the Internet where airfares can be booked. Yet
despite my Internet experience and university degree, I still find most of them
muddling and confusing. That's why I created FareHunter to be so simple and easy
to use. And of course free.

With the help of my friend and developer Adrian Leatherland, FareHunter went
live in 2004 comparing airfares on Qantas, Virgin Blue and Jetstar. Our popularity
grew and grew, thanks to strong word-of-mouth support and well-placed entries
on Google and Yahoo. We never received any incentive or payment from the
airlines.

Unfortunately, one airline - Jetstar - decided in 2004 that it didn't want us
comparing their airfares. Initially we were sent the wrong prices (which we
obviously couldn't compare). Later we were sent no prices at all.
I am extremely grateful to the media outlets who carried our plight,
including The Age, Sydney Morning Herald, Herald Sun, MX, and so on.

The current situation is that Jetstar wants us to sign a contract before we can
include Jetstar airfares again in our comparison table. As a free and independent
website, our policy at FareHunter is to sign no contracts or alliances with any
particular airline operator.

We believe that when airlines choose to provide airfares on the Internet, services
like FareHunter have a right to analyse and compare those airfares, to help
customers make an informed decision. I really don't understand why Jetstar
objected to this.

I can only ask Jetstar to reconsider it's decision. I would like to thank all
FareHunter supporters for their kind words of encouragement, and should the
situation change, we will immediately inform those of you who have registered
your e-mail address.

I have made a personal choice not to fly on Jetstar. Irrespective of what choice
you make, I thank you for your support and wish you safe and enjoyable travels.

Yours sincerely,

Greg Holloway
